Assurance

Quality and safeguarding you can evidence.

Every family, school and commissioning team deserves to know exactly how a provider keeps children safe and proves its work. This page sets out our standards in plain terms.

Safeguarding

  • Named Designated Safeguarding Lead with a deputy for cover
  • Written safeguarding and child protection policy reviewed annually
  • Clear thresholds and same-day escalation to local authority MASH teams
  • Concerns recorded on the day and audited by a senior practitioner

Safer recruitment

  • Enhanced DBS checks for every practitioner, renewed on schedule
  • Two references verified before any unsupervised contact
  • Identity, right-to-work and qualification checks on file
  • Structured induction and probation with observed practice

Training & supervision

  • Safeguarding, first aid and inclusive practice training for all staff
  • SEND, neurodiversity and de-escalation training for specialist roles
  • Regular one-to-one supervision and reflective practice sessions
  • Annual appraisal with a personal development plan

Compliance & insurance

  • Public liability and employers' liability insurance in place
  • Risk assessments for every site, session and activity
  • Council approved and on current frameworks
  • Health and safety, lone working and transport procedures documented

Data protection

  • UK GDPR compliant recording and retention practices
  • Information sharing on a lawful, need-to-know basis
  • Secure systems with access limited to relevant practitioners
  • Families told clearly what we record and why

Quality assurance

  • Outcomes agreed at the start and measured at review
  • Case file audits and unannounced session observations
  • Feedback gathered from children, families and referrers
  • Written reporting at intervals set by the commissioner
If something goes wrong

Complaints process

  1. 01

    Tell us

Raise a concern with any member of staff, or email info@gatherthecommunity.co.uk. We acknowledge every complaint within two working days.

  2. 02

    We look into it

A senior practitioner not involved in the issue reviews records, speaks to those involved and responds in writing within ten working days.

  3. 03

    Escalation

If you are not satisfied, the Director reviews the outcome. Safeguarding matters are reported to the relevant local authority regardless of the complaint route.

Questions about our standards?
